Description
The Kovat system has been developed to provide an inbuilt Kovats capability for the ChemStation, primarily for the Food & Flavours industry
Using the ChemStation's 'Edit Entire Method' menu option will allow a normal method to be modified as a Kovats method using the dialog below.
The kovat system works by packaging two normal ChemStation methods into a single method.M file. One method handles the kovat calibration mixes while the other handles the sample. The calibration (or Hydrocarbon) method is automatically switched when a sample name contains the text 'KOVAT' (default or the user can select an alternative). Specific signals are also supported and dual column operation. The signal specific kovats databases can either be saved with the method or exported to a file.
With a kovat method loaded select either the 'Sample Method' or the 'Hydrocarbon Method' from the Calibration menu.
The user can create an individual report by using the Chemstation Custom Report tool
The Kovats option becomes part of the normal Chemstation mechanism.
